  • What great films you’ve watched. My favorites of this list are Diary of a Country Priest, The Exterminating Angel, Mouchette, Three Colours: Red and Winter Light. When I start blogging again on the 3rd, I’m going to do one of these lists.

    • I think I have an idea of which one and I look forward to reading about it.

  • Wow, The Artist is sitting pretty low. Not overly impressed?

  • Chuck

I remember a tweet from you about enjoying Femme Fatale. The further one gets from a new DePalma film, the more people seem to appreciate it.
What really confuses me are the many films ranked below Cobra. Most people who are especially lenient on Stallone and action films despise that one. It’s terribly made on nearly every level. I can only imagine you having some sideways, unexpected fascination with it as a piece of camp or commentary on 80’s action films.

    • It’s more of a comment on how little I enjoyed most of the films beneath Cobra. Not all of them were bad or poorly made, but I really didn’t enjoy watching most of them. Cobra, at least, held some entertainment value for me and I thought the film was a bizarre and interesting mix of slasher and action movie tropes.
