At first glance, Usagi Yojimbo is a simple book. No colors, the art is simple with even simpler stories. There’s no complicated nuance, no hidden thematic depth, it’s all a straightforward, surface level affair. And yet, something about that makes it so elegant, beautiful, magnificent and masterful.
