Jauja (2014)

I quite liked this film. It’s supposed to be about some people looking for the tree of life or fountain of youth or some supernatural thingy. At least that’s what the title card said. The reality is mostly just shots of people standing around in beautiful landscapes and that’s okay by me. The 4:3 aspect ratio and the tapered edges give it a mystical kind of edge, like the film might have been some recovered piece from the 50s. That’s all I really got. Didn’t find this film particularly deep, but I enjoyed it.
